Question 1

Who leads the NBA in blocks in 2025-26?

Accepted Answer

The current NBA blocks per game leader for 2025-26 is shown at rank #1 in the leaderboard above. The full rankings are updated daily after every completed game. Click any player\'s name to view their Statz profile — game logs, prop hit rates and active streaks are all available.

Question 2

What determines a player's blocks per game average?

Accepted Answer

Blocks are primarily driven by: position (centres and power forwards stay near the basket), height and wingspan (greater length provides more shot-contesting reach), defensive scheme (help-side systems that direct opponents toward the basket increase block opportunities), and minutes (foul trouble reduces time on court). Victor Wembanyama exemplifies the combination of all these factors with his 7'4" frame and 8-foot wingspan.

Question 3

Are blocks props a good NBA betting market?

Accepted Answer

Blocks are one of the least liquid NBA prop markets — fewer sharp bettors focus on them and lines are updated less frequently, creating potential value. Identify elite shot blockers from this leaderboard who play in help-heavy defensive schemes, cross-reference with their L5/L10 hit rate on Statz, and track active block streaks. Foul trouble patterns in game logs are the biggest risk factor for blocks props.

Question 4

Who holds the NBA single-season blocks record?

Accepted Answer

Mark Eaton holds the single-season blocks record with 5.56 BPG in the 1984-85 season. Modern shot-blocking leaders include Myles Turner, Brook Lopez, Anthony Davis and Victor Wembanyama — who has the physical profile to challenge historical records given his unprecedented combination of size, length and mobility at his position.
